Hikers along the Appalachian Trail, wanting to experience something a little different are welcome to stay at Sufi Lodge and experience for themselves a taste of what a Sufi Dergah has to offer. One should approach the Dergah with the same respect they would entering into a Monastery, Shrine, Ashram or Temple. Reverence and respect for the sanctity of the holy place will help people have a better experience and take away something special from their experience.

Sufi Lodge, otherwise known as a Zawiya or Dargah (Dergah) is a clean place where aspirants along a spiritual path seek to raise themselves to a level where they may "Know Thy Self" - their true heavenly self. Through meditative practices, service to others and prayer,  Sufi Aspirants struggle to meet their Lord Almighty and open up the heavenly senses of sight, smell, taste, hearing and touch. When accomplished, the spiritual being encompasses the physical being and one can literally fly and walk on water. The Sufi Aspirant is no longer bound by the physical limitations of this temporal world. Not an easy station to achieve and the most difficult challenge anyone will ever encounter.
