Welcome to Sufi Lodge
A more unique place would be hard to find. Sufi Lodge is a happy, healthy, healing, meditative and family friendly place to stay.
A place for reaching to our true heavenly selves or just enjoy a great bed, shower and meal. Mostly for spiritual purposes we do not allow alcohol and tobacco products on the premises. If you want a bigger explanation, just ask.
Most hikers have heard about our reputation for serving excellent foods from the many reviews on hiker apps and services like GutHook. Both your hosts are adept at cooking a wide range of cuisines. Vegetarians love the many diverse meals we cook and appreciate the loving care and diversity we offer in our vegan and vegetarian meals. We are known mostly for our excellent Middle Eastern cuisine.
Our food is cheap given the quality and limited meals we serve. For those on a budget we have offering inside our store that should make most people happy. A microwave and tea kettle are available. But for those who love great food we do our best not to disappoint. Meals may not be offered if not paid in advance so be sure to reserve a place when you book your room.
If you never tried real halal food know that it is far superior to anything else you may find in your grocery store. We would be happy to tell you why when you come and dig into your delicious meal.

James (Umar) and Suzanne (Fatimah) have traveled the world and spent many years in Damascus, Syria where they taught English at the American Embassy. While living and working in Damascus they became interested in the spiritual meditative practice known as Sufism - like the famous Whirling Dervishes popularized by the most widely read poet in America Jallahudin Rumi.
Sufi Lodge, also known as a Dergah, Zawiya, or Khan is a place where people searching for higher spiritual purpose gather to spend time advancing themselves through meditative practices and prayer. We all have a rocket to reach to our heavenly stations but we must find the key. Sufi Lodge is open to all who wish to experience something a little different. We cater mainly to the Appalachian Trail Hiker and Trans American Bike Community and those on a spiritual quest, but all are welcome.
